Reversing First And Last Name In The Lender Field:

After the raw data is converted to a farm, the Lender field may contain the First AND Last name of the lender separated by a comma, but with the order reversed (e.g., "Smith,Joe"). The solution to switching the order to the "correct" format involves using the Global Replace feature.

To reverse the first and last names, do the following:

1. It is STRONGLY recommended that you back up your farm BEFORE attempting this global replace. A single character out of place in the expression in step 6 could ruin all the data in the LENDER field. Either copy the farm to a floppy disk (Main Menu, "Copy A Farm To / From Disk"), or view the farm and use the Misc Menu "Copy A Farm " option.
2. Select "View A Farm" from the Main Menu, and select the farm and order (which order you select at this point doesn't matter).
3. Press F5 for Misc Menu, and select Global Replace. Press any key to bypass the warning.
4. Select the LENDER field and press Enter.
5. When prompted for the expression to Replace LENDER with, type the following EXACTLY as shown (except all on one line):
   ALLTRIM(RIGHT(lender,LEN(lender)-AT(",",lender)))+" "+ ALLTRIM(LEFT(lender,(AT(",",lender)-1))))
6. Answer "Y" to both the "Unable To Validate Expression..." and "Is this expression O.K." prompts.
7. If all goes well, the names should now be reversed. If not, restore your farm from disk or other farm, and try again.

Important Notes:

This trick works for ANY field where there are 2 items that need to be reversed AND they are separated by a comma. Replace the "LENDER" field name in the above expression with the appropriate field name.

This assumes that ALL the records in question that you are going to replace have a comma separator. If even ONE field does not, this replace may crash and hang up your system.
