Right justifying fields and text:

1. Calculate the text width of your letter. Look at the bottom of your computer screen while in MailMerge.
   Subtract your right margin from your left margin (RM: - LM:)
2. Replace n in the following formulas with the text width of your letter.
   Replace fieldname with field name (Alt-F in MailMerge brings up available field pick list).
3. If you need to adjust your margins, it often helps to put hard returns at the end of your lines before you reset your margins - to prevent your text from reformatting. You would need to do this for every line that wraps.
   
   Here's how:
   a.) Make sure that you are in INSERT mode.
   b.) Starting at the first line hit the END key and then hit the ENTER key.
   c.) The remainder of your text will drop one line and your cursor will be on a blank line. (If it is not, you are not in INSERT mode!) Hit the DELETE key once, the blank line will be deleted and the remainder of your text will come up one line.
   d.) Repeat this process to the end of your letter.

Now you can reset your margins without your text reformatting!

basic version:

{RIGHT(SPACE(n)+ALLTRIM(fieldname), n)}

Separate multiple fields with + " "+

(plus-sign quote space quote plus-sign)

Example of formula for right justifying a three field line:

{RIGHT(SPACE(n)+ALLTRIM(fieldname1)+" "+ALLTRIM(fieldname2)+" "+ALLTRIM(fieldname3), n)}

Text may be substituted for a field name, but must be enclosed in quotes (see next formula).

To right justify text only, use the following formula:

{RIGHT(SPACE(n)+ "Text to be right justified, enclosed in quotes", n)}

To right justify a numeric field, use the following formula:

{RIGHT(SPACE(n)+ALLTRIM(STR(numericfield)), n)}

To right justify a date field, use the following formula:

{RIGHT(SPACE(n)+DTOC(datefield), n)}

EXAMPLE of right justification:

The following example would right justify to column 63.

{RIGHT(SPACE(63)+ALLTRIM(TODAY), 63)}

{RIGHT(SPACE(63)+ALLTRIM(FIRST)+" "+ALLTRIM(ONR_NAME), 63)}
