Changing Transfer Dates From "Month/Year" to "Month/Day/Year" Format

Sometimes farm data may include transfer dates that are not in the correct "MM/DD/YY" (Month/Day/Year), format, and hence will not index correctly. An example would be a transfer date of "4/89" instead of "4/01/89". To correct this problem, you need to take the following steps:

1. Load your farm software the usual way, and select the "View A Farm" option from the Main Menu.
2. Select the farm you wish to change the transfer dates in, and select an order that IS NOT Transfer Date
3. Press F5 (Misc Menu), and select "Global Replace". Press Enter to bypass the "!!WARNING!!" screen.
4. Select "TFR_DATE" from the Fields list (you will need to scroll the list down).
5. In the window marked "Enter the Value to REPLACE 'TFR_DATE' with" type the following EXACTLY as shown (all on ONE line):
   (LEFT(ALLTRIM(TFR_DATE),AT("/",ALLTRIM(TFR_DATE)))+"01/"+RIGHT( ALLTRIM(TFR_DATE),2))
6. NOTE: If your dates are separated by a dash "-" instead of a slash "/", substitute the dash for the slashes in the expression above. Also, if you wish all your transfer dates to have a day of other than "01", substitute that date for "01" in the expression above.
7. Press Enter after entering the above expression. Answer "Y" to the "Do you wish to proceed and risk a program error" prompt, and also answer "Y" to the "Is this expression O.K." prompt.
8. Press Esc when done, and exit back to the Main Menu. Then select the "View A Farm" option again, and this time select Transfer Date as the order. Transfer Dates should now be in the correct order.
