One of the main issues facing a Convert Utility user is setting up the "Program Paths."

A "Program Path" is basically an entry in a database (or table) containing information which tells the Convert Utility where to look (Drive and Path) for the Farm Management System's master installation files. §2.7 in the Convert Utility manual covers this topic in greater detail and should be referred to when attempting to set or reset a Program Path. (The Convert Utility v5.5 manual also covers this topic under §2.8.8.)

One of the first problems encountered when attempting a Copy Program to Floppy operation is that the Program Path(s) have not been set up yet. The following steps walk you through this process.

1. Proceed to the SETUP FACILITY window. From the MAIN MENU, select System Utilities and press [ENTER]. Then, from the SYSTEM UTILITIES menu, select Setup and press [ENTER].
2. Open the SELECT PROGRAM MASTER PATH window.
   From the SETUP FACILITY OPTIONS menu, select Program Paths and press [ENTER]. Note: If you select the Program Paths menu item by pressing the "P" key, pressing [ENTER] is not required as this is a horizontal menu.
   For each Information Products program you are distributing, you should have an entry in the "Program Paths" table.
3. If necessary, add an entry to the Program Paths Table.
   Pressing the [F5] or [INSert]W key in this table will pop up a dialog box containing the fields which you need to add information to. For instance, if you are, or have already installed the Farm Management System's version 4.6 installation files, they will be located in the directory \IP_PRGS\FMS46. So, refering to the above screen shot, you would enter something like "FMS 4.6" into the Program Name field, "C" or other drive letter into the Drive (or X:) field, and "\IP_PRGS\FMS46" into the Path field. (Note: Do NOT add the quotation marks.)

You should now be able to Copy Program to Floppy (create program disk sets) with no problem.
